Issue 10

Page history last edited by Daneel Rush 13 years, 10 months ago

“Hello, dear readers. This is Matsuki Takato.

My esteemed seeker of Supernal knowledge, Ryuugi-san. Your earlier inquiries are being dealt with by my beloved Arisu and by DC. They work at their own pace, so I will ask you to be a little patient.

Your latest batch of questions, however, is very interesting, and it also involves some touchy subjects, so I decided to take care of them personally and privately. They will find out sooner or later, but that will be my issue to handle. Time is short for me right now, so let us make haste.”

In True Stories Henry and Ryo have the following exchange:

“………damn you, Akiyama Ryo.” Henry muttered.

“Hey, I’m just stating a fact!”

“………that’s not what I meant.” Henry stated before standing up to take the empty plates to the kitchen.

Could you explain this?

“Ryo’s intent is fairly obvious. He and Rika were putting considerable efforts into finding Adonamon. Henry lashed at him because he got Takako in a bad mood. We all know how that usually turns out. Ryo’s words were a heavy reminder of…well, of my absence. There was also the fact Henry had recently found out Ryo was his little sister’s first, so I guess he just wanted to insult the guy for the hell of it.”

In True Stories 02, it was said the creator of Project Adam (Millenniumon?) was powerful enough to deserve the title ‘divinity’. Is He a Supernal? If so, what type (the difference between Divinities and Aeternals wasn’t mentioned until later in the Chapter)? I’d assume a Singularity and thus an Aeternal.

“Indeed, Millenniumon, like Goddramon, is a Digital God who is also a Supernal…well, Goddramon is a bit complicated, being more of an Aspect of a Supernal…or several; it’s really complicated. We’re very similar in that regard, being amalgams of multiple Supernal entities.

Millenniumon is obviously an Aeternal; does Milly seem to you the kind of guy who needs worship?”

Concerning Supernals, how relevant are the ‘Associations’ listed in their profiles (such as Sandalphon’s ‘The Kabalistic séfira Malkuth (Shekkinah), mirrors, roses, the Sabbat’)?

“Ah, well, those are just associations given to them by humans throughout the history and development of mythology and religion. They are far more important to Divinities than to Aeternals, for obvious reasons, but the associations themselves carry no power. It is the human belief in those ‘trappings of power’ which becomes the sustenance of a God.”

As Arisu asked in True Stories 03, is the offspring of an Aeternal always an Aeternal? Are they more likely to be? Why?

“On one side, Supernals might find it convenient to Incarnate into the offspring of Incarnated Supernals, especially if the two have a close relationship in the Higher Realms or whatever. However, this is not a hard rule and there’s no compulsion within the Thread of Destiny to assign Incarnations to the offspring of Incarnations. Sophia chose Arisu because she requested to Incarnate into Nonaka Rika’s child and the Thread of Destiny approved of this. So, no, the child of an Incarnated Aeternal does not necessarily have to be a Supernal himself.”

In True Stories 03, Absolutes are listed as beings between level 76 and 99. But Takato is a level 100. Is he still and Absolute? If not, what is he?

“The so-called Level 100 is ‘the existence above all classification’, ‘the magnitude that belongs to no scale’. The number, ‘100’ is just a label. The distance between ‘Level 99’ and ‘Level 100’ cannot be measured with standard methods, as it is related to matters far more significant than a mere power boost.

If you need to assign a label to what I am, then I am ‘EL’. No other titles are needed.”

Who added the notes in True Stories 03?

“Alice.”

How many of the Archangels managed to break the 10000 damage barrier by themselves?

“Takeru’s, Hikari’s, Rika’s, Tai’s and Takako’s Sephiroth Cards broke the 10000-damage barrier. Takako also reached over the 10000 barrier with some of her nastiest attacks. I guess we can also count Adonamon’s ‘Digital Apocalypse’, but the power of that thing cannot really be measured. The XANADU record-holder for highest power output –ignoring ‘Digital Apocalypse’– is my lovely little Arisu-chan, though.”

What is BlackTerriermon? A Singularity, digital mutation, or something else? Did Takako create BlackTerriermon?

“BlackTerriermon is a Digimon, in the true sense of the word. A real Digimon, unlike, let’s say, Kitsune’s creations. It is a Digimon which should not be able to exist, because it was given life by Takako’s Digital Hazard – Omega. As you might remember, Takako’s Hazard is intrinsically selfish and destructive; it should not be possible for Takako to create something like BlackTerriermon with that power. I’m sure even she was surprised when she pulled it off, she’s just good at hiding it and being haughty.

The following is between Takako, you readers and me. I’ll keep the others away from this info.

The bond between Digimon and human partner is strong, but not vital. If the Tamer dies, the Digimon will simply be Tamer-less, and viceversa. The exception to this was the original Guilmon created by the original Matsuki Takato, Code Name Asmodeus.

When Takako created BlackTerriermon, she used more than the Digital Hazard. She also used the petabytes of data she had gathered in her previous Incarnation as Kurozuka Shouko. Within this data there was a certain Sequence concealed.

Among the Supernals Kurozuka Shouko killed in her lifetime was the last Incarnation of the Archangel Sandalphon before DC. They fought within the Digital World, so when Sandalphon died, Shouko actually absorbed his data. It’s not possible to take Agendas in this manner; Lilith proved this by actually trying it. However, it is possible to absorb trace amounts of Supernal Power mixed with the ‘biological’ data of the person the Supernal Incarnated into.

In his death throes, Sandalphon created a Sequence, sent it to HAPHVYASHTHARVA, which processed it and then codified it into the data absorbed by Kurozuka Shouko. It was a fascinating piece of code, more of a library of parameters, actually. It contained the absolute minimal requirements necessary for the creation of a Digital entity. That is, the minimal amount of code needed for something to exist in the Digital World.

It was this Sequence…well, I guess now it’s a Reality Protocol, but anyway. This became the core for the entity, BlackTerriermon. It was born of Sandalphon and carries a fraction of Sandalphon’s power.

Do you see what this means? The current Incarnation of Sandalphon is not just DC: it’s DC and BlackTerriermon together. It’s like the complete opposite of Moloch and Satan who share one body.

DC and BlackTerriermon are connected. To kill DC, you must also kill BlackTerriermon. To kill BlackTerriermon, you must also kill DC. As long as one of the two remains, the other can be reconstituted from scratch. It’s truly a fascinating power nobody but Takako and I…and now you, know about. Yes, not even DC and his partner themselves. It’s also the reason this particular Protocol is not in the XANADU database.

I guess the lesson from this is not to underestimate Sandalphon’s power and ability. He is an Aspect of God, after all. She may treat him like crap, but even Lilith respects him…in her own weird way.”

Did she arrange for him to meet DC?

“No. Takako created the little fella, but DC and BlackTerriermon were naturally drawn to each other. They are both Sandalphon, after all.”

In True Stories 05, the topic of Ruki’s love-life while Takato was gone is mentioned in passing. Could you go into more detail?

“Ahaha, this is a dangerous topic. It makes her uncomfortable whenever someone brings it up. I don’t; I’m better than that, and I love her.

We have to understand, at that point even Takako believed I was gone forever, in the shape of Adonamon. Unlike Takako, who had gone through significant efforts to give GOSPEL the conclusion she intended for it, Ruki accepted Adonamon’s birth as the will of Adam and of the ‘Higher Entity’, and moved on with her current life, not as Shekinah, but as Matsuki Ruki.

Then again, you know her. She’s quite blunt, and quite picky. She tried dating, with little success. I won’t say it was because of me or some crap like that: I don’t think so highly of myself. I have no idea what she was looking for. She just didn’t find it.

She seems strangely content nowadays. I don’t think she’s dating around anymore. Maybe she thinks she’s already past marriageable age? Ahaha…don’t tell her I said that.

In the same Chapter, Takako says:

Takako chuckled. “Okay. Not that I’d have wanted to be the mother.”

Could you explain this? Did something happen during the course of Rika pregnancy?

“Haa...I knew it would come to this at some point, but…yeah, I guess it’s as good a time as any to make this clear.

I am not Arisu’s biological father. Arisu’s progenitor is Tachikawa Takato, who assumed my form to seduce Rika. From their intercourse, Arisu was born.”

What does Takako think of Chaos?

“Takako…well, Lilith, always found it hard to believe that this ‘Chaos’ guy was in fact the Incarnation of the Higher Entity, her progenitor. For starters, she was stronger than him. However, she could not deny the ‘feel’ he gave her, as well as the effect of his very presence on the world around him. To Lilith, ‘Chaos’ was a disturbing, indecipherable entity. She kept an eye on him throughout his Incarnations, looking for hints towards an understanding of his true nature.

Now that they all know what ‘Chaos’ truly was…I haven’t really bothered asking. I guess she’ll just shrug and ask for a hug or something. It does not really matter anymore, does it?”

Did Cain and Abel exist in Gospel?

“Cain and Abel were indeed Eve’s first two children, yes.”

What’s an O/R Chamber (it was stated that Rika was in one in True Stories 06)?

“It stands for ‘Observation & Recovery’. While Incarnated Supernals and Digimon are more resilient than ordinary humans, they still need special care if they push themselves too hard. Ordinary medicine is not the most appropriate for either, so GCIM created simple facilities to facilitate their recovery whenever they exerted themselves a little too much.”

Can you tell us a bit more about Reality Protocols? Can you give us some examples of Takato’s, Takako’s, and Moloch’s?

“There will be an article on that at some point, so I’ll put a rain check on this question for now. For you to get an idea of what they are and what they do, take a look at the ‘Agenda and Unique Special Abilities’ section in Takako’s and DC’s partial profiles, which I believe you have available. Those were written before the Alpha G-Team understood the connection between ‘Reality Protocols’ and the Supernal qualities they represent. We Supernals call them Auras (Halo in Equeria Protocol).”

What are the Pnakotic Manuscripts?

“The Pnakotic Manuscripts are an extremely long document Takako wrote on the year 2023. Within its pages, Takako recorded everything concerning Project ADAM, from its chronological development to the technical details involved in its execution, based on the information she stole when she and Takeru invaded and destroyed the Zohar Laboratory.

Because Project ADAM involved concepts and technology current human science has yet to develop –hence why it was only possible for it to succeed in the Digital World–, the Pnakotic Manuscripts have been concealed by the higher levels of GCIM, and access to its content is very carefully controlled. The general public does not even know of its existence (the person who put that note in the Reality Protocol input was fired; the note is not there anymore).

As for why Takako named it after one of Lovecraft’s fictional grimoires, only she can answer that question.”

In True Stories 06, it was said that Innate Format Algorithms was the official name for Digimon Techniques, but doesn’t mention Supernals. Am I correct in assuming it applies to their techniques as well?

“Indeed, you are right. It’s the general XANADU denomination for Supernals’ ‘Innate Self Powers’ (Nja svea rika).”

On the same note, it says ‘they only can either inflict harm or protect from it’. Am I correct in assuming that, despite this, Healing and Support techniques are also Innate Format Algorithms?

“Yes, you are right in this regard. Then again, Lilith cannot heal without inflicting horrible pain in the process, so it kinda makes sense she does not think much about such techniques.”

It says that Introspective Resonance Pseudo-Protocols are unique to the Archangels. Can you explain why?

“This has to do with the characteristics and a very special code stored within HEMINA_URDR, so I will have to spare you the details until the appropriate article…and until you get a proper grasp of Reality Code.”

It was stated that MagnaAngemon’s Excalibur was a weaker version of the actual Excalibur (which belongs to Ken, I believe). Does the same apply to Gallantmon Gram and Aegis, Crimson Modes Gungnir and Bluntgang, and other Digimon weapons?

“That is the case, yes. Alphamon’s Seiken Grade Alpha was an Instrumental Weapon itself, though. After I developed the X-Antibody, my modified Gram – ATZAL_STHEA and Aegis – ZODHAYA_LUTH were also completely new Instrumental Weapons. They only carried the names ‘Gram’ and ‘Aegis’ to relate them to the original Gallantmon.”

Given the amount of Energy required to use them, how long can Sophia, Lilith, and Moloch maintain their Reality Scripts?

“Takako doesn’t really need to keep Gardens of Babylon for longer than a few moments before her poor victim is driven crazy or kills himself. I don’t think even Takako knows the answer to this question.

Moloch is an extremely talented user of Reality Code. He probably can keep Pandora’s Box up for the most part of a day. He would have to rest for at least the same amount of time, though.

Ark of the Covenant is probably the most energy-demanding of all Scripts in existence. It is an extremely powerful technique Sophia made for the sole purpose of defeating Lilith. Unfortunately for her, its effect is just too extreme, and it is strongly rejected by Reality. She has only used it once, and we all saw it lasted about four minutes or something.”

What are the purposes of the different ‘G-Teams’?

“There are five G-Teams in the XANADU roster.

The Epsilon G-Team is in charge of general management and vigilance of the database. They are a combination of network security specialists and wiki updaters. They regulate the input of new information into the XANADU database and verify that the many security measures that protect the world-spanning network are working properly. We must thank them for their constant efforts to rid the world of spam, then! *chuckles* They work within all layers of the OSI model, and they are the ones who ensure the integrity and stability of the whole network.

The other four G-Teams are exclusively devoted to high-level research based on a model of global cooperation. They not only do research of their own, but they also stimulate communication between academic researchers throughout the world, so that everybody may benefit from everybody’s knowledge. The Delta G-Team focuses on Social and Behavioral Sciences; the Gamma G-Team on Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science and Health Sciences; and the Beta G-Team on Astronomy, Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics.

The Alpha G-Team is by far the smallest of the five groups and, unlike the others, it is exclusively located in the GCIM, Tokyo branch of UNCIM. They are the compilers of information related to the Last Holy War and Supernals in general. The Alpha G-Team is not a permanent entity, simply because they don’t have a constant inflow of Supernal knowledge. They already gathered all the historical data concerning the events of the Last Holy War, and the only way they can learn more about Supernal matters is from Supernals themselves. Now that the secrets of Reality Code are about to be revealed, I guess they will gather again to listen like the hungry little wolves they are. Not that they can do anything with this knowledge; I wouldn’t allow it, you see.”

What relationship did Lilith have with Micael?

“I assume you mean Micael’s Incarnation as the Nazarene. I…don’t think it would be proper of me to answer that question, so I’ll save it for a better time.”

What do the colors of Takato’s and Takako’s eyes indicate?

“You know, I never figured that out myself. Why did mine and Takako’s eyes change color according to our emotions? My eyes don’t do that anymore, so now it’s just Takako’s odd quirk. Might be some weird glitch of the Digital Hazard Protocols in HAPHVYASHTHARVA.”

Why does Takato dislike Takako’s telepathy?

“While telepathy is certainly a most convenient and useful power to have, it is usually the indicator of further stages of mental skill. I can do telepathy now, as well as mind reading and mind control if I wanted to. Those are not the kind of powers I would like anyone to abuse, especially not my own allies.”

Why does Arisu prefer not to invite her friends to her house?

“Well, as a family, they were pretty dysfunctional. We still are, but at least now we’re happy. Arisu’s classmates had this idealized image of the heroes who saved the world. I guess Arisu was kind enough not to show them the heroes’ harsh reality.

Also, Takako has this terrible habit of instilling deep traumas in the minds of hapless innocents for her personal amusement.”

Is a Divinities power determined by its Agenda’s, its worship, or both? I know a Divinity is weak without worship, but can it be stronger then its Agenda’s would allow if it had enough worship?

“It is hard to visualize the nature of a Divinity’s powers in current times when there is little worship. The ‘level’ (using XANADU’s terms) of Divinities fluctuated a lot in ancient times as worship rose and waned.

We could simplify it like this: a Divinity’s worship defines its current level, while its Agendas determine the maximum possible level it could strive to reach. Also, the significance of Agendas is not a constant. Water was a tremendously important Agenda in the old ages. My Agenda of Boundaries was not powerful by itself; it became powerful because I squeezed out its full potential.”

This one is a continuation of a previous question (About how strong (‘ie. what level would a Supernal who only had that one be) are some Agenda's? For example, Boundaries, Reality, Conflict, Love, Unity, etc.’). What rating would you give these Agenda’s from True Stories 09?

“The most powerful Agenda is Supremacy. The definition of ‘the best of the best’ itself possesses the greatest power. Adam Kadmon possesses the Agenda of Supremacy.”

(“After that come the fundamental concepts of reality: Divinity, Mortality, Existence, Inexistence, Time, Space, *Reality*, *Unity*, Duality, Multiplicity, Numbers, Probability, you catch my drift.”

“Then we’d have some more……let’s say……’tangible’ Agendas: Life, Death and *Matter*.”

“Emotions also make powerful Agendas: *Love*, Hate, Kindness, Anger, Fury, Envy, Desire, Lust……”

“We also have positive and negative attributes: Wisdom, Understanding, Splendor, Patience, Brightness, Ignorance……”)

“I apologize, but I am not going to start giving numbers to individual Agendas. It’s a waste of my time. I will omit the next two questions.”

Micael has the Agenda of Consecration, which I didn’t understand as powerful until some thought. But that train of thought brought me to this: How strong would the Agenda of Desecration be?

“Agendas which can be defined with a Boundary usually have about the same power. One of them might be a little stronger than the other according to the current conditions in Reality.”

What is with Astaroth? She was in the Digital World with Takato, and then she had a room in the Nonaka Complex, and then she helped Takako name those cities.

“She was very active. She still is. She spends most of her time in the Digital World, wandering and exploring. Back then she was serving Adonamon as her messenger of sorts. She’s not really close to anyone, but she’s still our comrade and she’s more than welcome in our home.”

Can you explain the names of the UN Cities?

“Takako had a blast giving completely inane and pointless names to these great cities that represented the rebirth of humanity after the calamities of the Holy War. You can only blame the other Archangels for that; it was supposed to be the whole team’s responsibility. They didn’t have any ideas so Takako seized the chance, gathered some ‘friends’ and had her fun. It’s rather painful to think that these new cities were named by the very person who destroyed the old Tokyo…”

What type of things does Takako lecture about at UN Tokyo University?

“The most accurate answer would be ‘whatever strikes her fancy’. Having lived through so many Incarnations, Takako possesses a lot of historical and technical knowledge, so you can be assured you will be enlightened no matter what she talks about. I think her different lectures will be items in the Chronology, so you’ll get the detailed titles of her seminars then.”

Takato’s Insignia is ‘Bounded Field’. Metatron’s are ‘Dictums’. What are Adam’s?

“Adam does not have an Insignia. At least, not one that can be accurately presented in a way you can understand. We’ll make more sense of that when I explain Cosmo_Superbia Protocol.”

What about Sophia’s?

“Sophia uses advanced Divine Arts, Demon Arts, Supreme Arts, Forbidden Arts and Esotericas.”

What about the Archangels (minus Taichi’s Mantras)?

“Raziel uses Mysteries, Tzaphkiel uses Arcanums, Kamael uses Prominences, Tzadkiel uses Paradoxes, Michael uses Songs, Haniel uses Ephemeras, Gabriel uses Forbidden Arts and Sandalphon uses Elemental Crafts.”

The Archdemons?

“Moloch used God Arts, Beelzebub used Debaucheries, Lucifuge used Vectors, Asmodeus used Conflagrations and Depravities, Astaroth uses Temptations…which is rather ironic, I may add. Belphegor used Routines, Baal used Mystic Shrouds, Adrammelech used Illusory Arts and Illusions, and the Angels of Prostitution used the standard Angel Signs and Demon Arts.”

In True Stories 11, it was stated that Shinobu was the third oldest Omnivice. How can that be, when she was born fifth?

“But the Blackpearl Omnivice existed before Hikari’s and Ken’s. Apparently that’s enough of a reason for Shinobu to be ‘older’.”

Everyone knows that Takako can dance her way through pretty much any type of attack that has even the slightest room to dodge within. As such, why do people keep banging their heads against the wall of futility that is using such attacks on her, and not just use solid waves of whatever they use to attack (or at least not leave human sized gaps)? Sure, that plan will just run into her shield and die a horrible death, but still. It at least means she can’t ignore you utterly.

“The plan should be not fighting Takako at all. Lilith is not an enemy that is meant to be defeated. Only I can face Takako’s full power and win…theoretically. I have no intention of fighting her seriously any time soon.

Besides, what makes you think Takako needs to use those ‘human-sized gaps’ you mention? She can just block with her Love’s Pain, regardless of whether it’s a wave motion cannon or bullet hell. She dodges to make things harder and more interesting for her. Either way, it’s pointless.”

When did the people with Reality Scripts (Lilith, Sophia, Adam, Nitocris, and Moloch) develop them (I’m excluding Taichi, as he didn’t consciously create his, from what I understand)?

“These dates will appear in the Chronology, so please be patient until then. Also, there are a few more Reality Scripts in existence, but they were not relevant to the GOSPEL storyline, so they do not appear in the respective article. They will probably appear in the Chronology, though.”

What were Moloch’s plans for Carthage?

“Aeternals can gain power from worship, just like Divinities. We just don’t need to. Aeternals without worship are still powerful, unlike Divinities. Moloch not only wanted the worship of Carthage, he was also after the souls of the citizens who offered their lives to his worship. Souls are the ‘clearest’ fragments of Adam Kadmon, so they carry an immense potential for great power. Maybe he was aiming at developing a second Reality Script, or maybe he would have been able to finish the terrible Programs he unleashed during the Holy War a few centuries earlier. That would have been disastrous, so I guess we should be grateful to Lilith for being so randomly evil.”

How often do Sophia’s demonic children catch up to her while she’s incarnated?

“Quite often, unfortunately. And she always holds back against her children, so those meetings are always dangerous unless she’s with strong company. Of course, any fallen angel would be insane to try anything funny with my Arisu-chan.”

What would have happened if Adam had been chosen as the Arbiter of the Last Holy War?

“That would have been detrimental to my plans, so I…umm…’coerced’ the Thread of Destiny to appoint Sophia as the Arbiter this time.”

Who were the Arbiters of the previous Holy Wars?

“The Holy War depicted in GOSPEL was the ninth since the establishment of the Absolute Treaty. Shekinah was the Arbiter of three, Sophia directed five and Adam had the position of Arbiter in one.

Before anybody asks, laziness had nothing to do with this uneven distribution of work. Really.”

Why does the lifespan of Lilith’s Incarnation’s keep getting longer?

“The Program Lilith used to introduce the concept of Incarnation into the Supernal Structures was not perfect. As a consequence, Lilith’s Incarnations have slowly changed into a strange new kind of existence, which we could call ‘Materialized Supernal’. We could say that Lilith’s Supernal ‘essence’ grew more and more attached to its human containers than normal Supernals’. Lilith designed her Program so that she would not need to return to the Higher Realm, instead jumping from human life to human life. The Program has achieved this extremely well. Too well, in fact.

Lilith cannot return to the Supernal Realms anymore. With the assimilation of Gabriel and Lilith’s Incarnation within a ‘Vessel of God’, the algorithm has finished its evolution and achieved its definite form. Lilith’s current body is now Lilith’s ‘true’ body.

Takako will not age. Takako will not die. If she is killed, or if she kills herself, Lilith will cease to exist, with disastrous consequences for the entirety of Reality. Lilith, Gabriel and Takako are truly one, and it will be so until the end of time.

At least she has that smoking hot adult form.”

“Well, that’s it from me. I skipped some of the questions from this batch. I’ll leave those for Arisu and Takako. Later.”
