“Hello, hello, Takato here.

Since apparently I’m the only one without a life, I will take care of a new set of questions…haa, actually, Takako thinks your questions are stupid and took Arisu out for a date instead. Then again, Takako thinks almost everything is stupid, so don’t feel particularly hurt by her opinions. Let us move to this most interesting set of inquiries, shall we?”

Divinities are said to be weakened by the lack of belief, however, their existence was revealed in the Holy War. Did that increase their strength in any way?

“The Holy War itself was a catastrophe for the Supernal way of life. The destruction and devastation unleashed in those three years (2018-2020) was of such a magnitude that humanity cared little about sides. To their eyes, we were all out to erase them from the face of the Earth. The only reason humans did not try to intervene more directly in the Holy War was because they were absolutely decimated. Once it was proved that most of their weapons were useless, they resigned themselves to whatever fate awaited them once a victor emerged.

Of course, this was helpful to Divinities in a way. It might not be worship, but at least humans had no choice but to acknowledge gods existed.

Once the war was over, and humanity had the time to lick its wounds and recover, only then did the distinction between ‘the good guys’ and ‘the not-so-good guys’ become clearer. The efforts of people like Ruki and Suzie helped humans understand that the war was a lot more than a grand free-for-all between super-beings.

In the end, Suzie has accomplished exactly what Athena Parthenos intended when she became one with her. Even if a good part of the Pantheon is not extinct, Suzie’s heroics have awakened a renewal of the Hellenic beliefs and traditions. All over the world, the major religions have been forced to harmonize their usual all-encompassing and almost-oppressive doctrines with the growing acknowledgement and acceptance of the fact that gods truly exist and receive sustenance from human recognition. The following years will be very interesting for religion as a whole, even if the whole issue is mitigated by the fact that Supernals have not suddenly become public figures, nor we have any intention to.

Of course, the divinities that joined the side of Heaven in this Last Holy War are now faring much better than those who sided with Hell, in some cases with very strange results. For example, Hel-chan was the only Norse divinity that survived Ragnarok. Now she has a huge worship in Scandinavia, but not as a Goddess of Death, but as an embodiment of renewal, restoration and new beginnings. I guess she’ll be adding a few Agendas to her stock very soon, and maybe even become the mother of a whole new Nordic Pantheon.

I only hope she doesn’t ask me to help her with that.”

Once the existence of Divinities and Aeternals were revealed, how did that affect the world stage? How did it affect organized religions and nations?

“This is related to the previous question, of course.

It was not as dramatic as you might have imagined. Then again, the world was completely shaken and devastated by Moloch’s ‘Script of the Apocalypse’. With the political order we had known since World War II utterly shattered, and Israel itself turned into a radioactive wasteland, the religious structures that sustained humanity’s admittedly weakening faith completely fell apart.

This actually helped the transition, though. The major religions were at their weakest once their historical center was destroyed. There was no ‘Holy Land’ anymore. So the grief-stricken humans turned to whatever source of succor they could find. It did not matter whether it was Christianity, Buddism or whatever. Even the most obscure form of worship on a higher power, as long as it provided hope in those dark times, worked for at least someone. Really, considering that the population of the world dropped by more than a half in the span of 16 months, religious conflict was far from being a priority to those remaining. Humans did learn from the destruction of their world.

My meeting with His Holiness (True Stories 31) certainly eased the transition. It took a few years, and the process is far from finished, but I believe most people now understand that distinct religions do not have to be mutually exclusive. Supernals have never cared about religion as an institution, anyway. The greatest religions are monotheistic and the worship of their many followers does not grant power to any existing Divinity. It’s kind of a waste, isn’t it?”

Who was the last human to ascend to the level of Aeternal? It was mentioned that it is increasingly more difficult for humans to reach the level.

“What happened with Matsuki Takato was the exception, not the rule. A human does not gain the adjective ‘heroic’ in life. It is only after his tale is transmitted from generation to generation; feeding and awe-inspiring the minds of hundreds of thousands, that an exemplary life becomes truly ‘epic’ and ‘legendary’.

It is the disadvantage of globalization: now we only get the tales ‘as is’, without the enrichment they can only receive from deep admiration and powerful imagination. Even the most heroic actions remain ‘within the scope of normalcy’, and people now turn to fiction to satiate their need to worship larger-than-life figures. This is how fictional artifacts like Lovecraft’s Necronomicon have managed to emerge as actual Instrumental Weapons, and the last ‘heroic mortal’ before Matsuki Takato was Jack the Ripper.”

In True Stories 04, Takato calls Ruki "Lucifer" which is implied to be her original name. Do you mean the Morningstar? The one who fell to become the basis of what we know as "Satan?" How does that work out when she is referred to as Shekinah in your wiki answers?

“Ruki would find this question extremely insulting. Takako would have just laughed at your ignorance.

The term ‘Satan’ was originally used by you humans to refer to all beings that opposed and challenged religious faith. The first reference to Satan in the Bible appears in the Book of Job, and the Satan in there was in fact an angel subservient to God, who challenged God on the loyalty of his most faithful human follower. It was only much later that the name was given to the archetypal ‘Devil’ of Abrahamic religions. The association between Lucifer and Satan came to be during the Middle Ages, from the interpretation of Isaiah 14:12.

Let us make clear, then, that the whole story of Lucifer’s ‘fall’ and transformation into ‘Satan’ is completely made-up. Lucifer and Satan are two completely different beings. For starters, Lucifer is Shekinah’s child, while Satan –Satariel, as he was originally named—is Sophia’s.

Lucifer was the leader of the great rebellion that gave rise to the First Holy War. Satariel and his twin, Lahiel—whom you know as Moloch—were two of his twenty commanders.”

You said that Takako’s death would mean the end of Lilith and severe damage to the universe. But you’ve also said that Takako has an average human’s lifespan in Introduction to GOSPEL Chapter 6. Does that mean that the universe’s destabilization is inevitable?

“Ah, ah, well…that particular scene was presenting Alice’s thoughts, wasn’t it?”

What happened to the Royal Knights and Rei? Do they join up with the Archangels after their short lived war? Or are they all eliminated?

“Those who survived became my Chioth ha Qadesh for the duration of the Holy War.”

What is Terriermon and his role as Savior? Was he an Aeternal too? Micael perhaps?

“The birth of all Digimon is programmed and executed by the Reality Protocols known as the Digital Hazard, with the authorization of the Thread of Destiny, of course. Terriermon’s design and birth was commanded by the Thread of Destiny as one of the components of the ‘Prophecy’.

The purpose of the Prophecy was the completion of Adam Kadmon as Sovereign of the Lower Realms, as it had been decided billions of years ago. I will eventually explain the full details of the Prophecy, but what you need to know is that Terriermon was the final key for its success. He was ‘The Gatherer’, designed to contain the Divine Light of the Ten Séfira before giving it to yours truly, so that I would become Adonamon.”

Did Chaos take any interest in Takato after Asmodeus’ death? Any attempts to stack the deck in his favor?

“The entity you knew as ‘Chaos’ could not have taken any interest in me after Asmodeus’ death, because the entity you knew as ‘Chaos’ ceased to exist the day Asmodeus died.”

All of the Digimon in the future seem to have the X Antivirus with the exception of Rika’s Renamon and a few others. Calumon I can understand with his special status, but what about the others like Lopmon? Why is that? Normally I would consider the fact that you just got lazy, but you’ve always taken care to refer to Digimon by their full names outside of conversations.

“When the X-Antibody came into existence, I offered our Digimon the choice to take it or not. It seemed to be a convenient power-up for me and Guilmon, but we really did not know if it would have a beneficial effect on other Digimon. The X-Antibody is rather strange, you see. If seems to have an effect on some Digimon, yet on others it does absolutely nothing. When Huanglongmon unleashed the X-Program on the entire Digital World, however, I was forced to release the X-Antibody and pray for the best. That’s the reason there are so many X-Digimon nowadays. By ‘X-Digimon’ I mean Digmon who not only survived the X-Program, but also found their DigiCode fundamentally modified by the X-Antibody.

Renamon and Lopmon took the Antibody, of course. As for why they did not change, your guess is as good as mine.”

You said in True Stories 01 that the Quadrants no longer existed after GOSPEL. What happened to them exactly? Did they merge? How did the world deal with the overpopulation and material shortages bound to occur?

“The Digital World was destroyed twice during the Last Holy War: once by Huanglongmon and once by Adonamon. Since the destroyed world was immediately replaced by a new one in both cases, the only significant effect was the traumatic modifications of the geography. Digimon never lost their homes, but they were forced to quickly adapt to new ones.”

What’s happening to Hikari? It’s been said that her skin and hair’s been getting paler. Some kind of sickness? A result of her battles in GOSPEL?

“Kamiya Hikari should have died on the Day of Revelation, after her battle with Lucifuge Rofocale. Her soul was ready to return to me. However, she was still necessary, and Takeru and Pauline were desperately trying to save her, even if they had no way to achieve such a feat. That is why I unraveled the boundaries of Hikari’s and Pauline’s souls to allow them to amalgamate.

Just like Hikari’s soul has assimilated Pauline’s, Hikari’s digitalized DNA has been permanently altered by Pauline. Her body is gradually averaging the features of both women, within the realm of possibility. Unfortunately for Hikari, she won’t undergo a second growth spurt.”

If an incarnated human performs a great deal of valor enough to be raised to the ranks of Aeternal, does it occur? Or is it denied due to the presence of the sleeping Supernal Entity? Takato seems to prove this wrong but he was host to something far above Aeternals or Divinities and thus might not follow the usual trend.

“If it was achieved before the Epiphany, then yes, the human would become an Aeternal upon death. This has never happened, though. You cannot underestimate the magnitude of the requirements for an event as sublime as immediate Supernal conversion.

This is the reason even Takako supports the idea of Koushiro becoming an Aeternal. He literally broke a fundamental law of Reality with sheer smarts, after all.”
