A rather flimsy-looking wooden pillar with a foot-high effigy of Athena on top, the Palladium is still a powerful protective talisman.

When placed on a flat surface and activated, Palladium sets up an invisible, undetectable boundary which defines a circle with a maximum radius of 250 meters. Within this territory, any and all man-made objects are rendered immune to any and all damage. They cannot be harmed by any physical or supernatural effect feasible in this Reality, except for Merodach, Seder Hishtalshelus and effects that dissolve Reality into the alien Chaos.

The Palladium itself is not subjected to this effect, and thus attacking it is the most obvious way to eliminate the boundary. The column has a (relatively) minor self-defensive measure, though: it can only be seen by beings of power (XANADU level) equal or superior to Athena’s. A minor invisibility glamour protects it from lesser beings, and using supernatural means to see through it triggers a second defensive measure that renders the offender permanently blind unless Athena personally removes the curse.
