Sehul – The Invincible Radiance of the Daystar

Owner: Lilith; Lilith.TakaKo (current)

Type: Anti-World

“The only way it could be better would be if it could transform into a giant robot!”

The Treasury of Nitocris, upon the fusion of Lilith and Gabriel in the form of Code Name “Gabrielle”, became the storage vault of the countless treasures the Aspect of Chaos has created and/or collected in the millennia she has spent wandering the earth. The number of Instrumental Weapons in existence exploded magnificently thanks to the dreams, thoughts, beliefs and ideas of humankind. Lilith’s collection of Instrumental Weapons, in its vast majority, comprises items she has collected in the last five millennia. Among those items, Sehul is the oldest, one of the mightiest, and so cherished by Lilith that she refuses to use it solely because she does not want others to witness its magnificence.

Lilith believed she could even defeat Gilgamesh with this weapon, but she hesitated to try—she actually feared Gilgamesh would defeat her and claim her prized treasure as a spoil of war. She is finally “forced” to reveal it to the world in the Battle of Mare Aeterna, in which she takes down Gilgamesh’s Vimana and almost the entirety of his air force, allowing the Heavenly Host to meet Gilgamesh’ artificial army in close combat before the King of Uruk renewed its numbers.

Origin

Sehul is an Instrumental Weapon spontaneously created by Reality as the crystallization of one of the earliest ideas of human religion: the image of a divine embodiment of the sun crossing the sky in a blazing vehicle of light and flame. It is the precursor of the solar barges of ancient Egypt, the solar chariots of early Indo-European cultures and the Vimana of the Sanskrit epics. It is not only the embodiment of the sun itself, but of its power and significance since ancient times. It is not a mere transport; it is not a mere weapon—it is a weaponized star. The greatest, most arcane and most revered of natural phenomena, turned into a glorious mobile throne and an instrument of sublime power.

Appearance

Sehul appears as a walnut-shaped aerial vehicle twenty-five meters long and eight meters wide. It appears to be made of gold, or at least something that looks like the purest gold, with a band of gleaming white metal that divides the top and bottom halves.  The walls of Sehul have an average thickness of four inches. The floor is considerably thicker (about one foot), though, and the above values do not include the parts of the vessel in which the integrated weaponry is embedded. The inside of the personal fortress is known only to Adam, who can know everything, and Lilith, who is the only one who has seen Sehul’s interior with her own eyes. It is divided in a smaller control room at the front and an “open space” in the back.

The Control Room

The vessel’s bridge room consists of top and bottom levels. While the owner of Sehul can fully control the vessel from his high seat on the top level, Sehul has three command consoles for additional crew. The console at the bottom center is meant for a pilot to drive the motions of Sehul, while the two consoles on the sides can only be used to control Sehul’s weapon systems. All three consoles may also acts as interfaces to the Akashic Records.

In spite of Sehul’s external appearance as a completely solid and opaque vessel, from the inside the walls, ceiling and floors can be made completely (unidirectionally) transparent at the will of the airship’s captain. The console interface can be understood by anyone with at least 10 points of Reality Manipulation, but a higher score certainly improves the vessel’s performance.

Only the person seated on the top chair can control the open space behind, and only while seated there. The control room is five meters long.

The Open Space

Normally, the open space behind the control room is precisely that: a completely empty room taking most of the space in the airship. It is the ship’s master who may decide what the open space will be used for. It can become anything conceivable; the environment and physical features can be completely customized at the captain’s whim. Instrumental Weapons cannot be created with this power. The effects of Programs, Scripts or Protocols cannot be reproduced by this power. Basically, only “mundane” things and environments can be created within this space. Everything created in the open space will be of the highest conceivable quality achievable by human skill. Things created within the open space can only exist in there, and dissipate into nothingness if someone tries to take them out of Sehul.

Specs and Weapon Systems

Sehul can normally fly at a maximum speed of 1700 km/h. Supernal pilots with Stamina and Reality Manipulation scores of 75 or higher can activate a special “Impulse Mode” which boosts Sehul’s maximum speed to 370 km/s. This tremendous boost is extremely draining, though, and it could prove disastrous to an unprepared pilot.

The primordial combat aircraft is capable of incredible maneuverability for its size and speed. In the hands of a skilled pilot (high Manipulation score), it is capable of feats such as making a perfect instantaneous 90° turn while barrel-rolling.

Sehul is equipped with a comprehensive catalog of integrated Instrumental Weapons. The weapons are perfectly concealed by the hull of the airship; it is impossible to the naked eye to identify the positions of the weapons until they are actually deployed into firing position. Deploying the weapons out of their docking locks does strain the ship’s supernatural aerodynamics, noticeably dropping Sehul’s maximum flight speed.

There is no limitation to how often or how many times these weapons can be used besides the captain’s capacity to fuel the airship.

Corona Barrier – Merciless Aegis of Obliteration

(Anti-Army, 4100 per flare, 8 km, everything within range)

A set of 16 plasma flare cannons set up on two rings along the surface of the airship; one on the top and the other on the bottom side. Each cannon can be individually directed within a solid angle of 15π/8 sr. The firing rate of each cannon is relatively slow, though: maximum 8 flares per minute.

Photosphere Barrier – Overwhelming Aegis of Submission

(Anti-Army, --, 800 m, everything within range)

Sehul can be commanded to release a terrible aura of heat and light equivalent to the surface of the sun. The space up to eight kilometers around Sehul is flooded with blinding light (2x107 W*m2*sr-1) and overwhelming heat (~5780 K).

Plasma Gatling – Golden Artillery of Primordial Starlight

(Anti-Army, 860 per shot, 800 m, everything within range)

Two rapid-fire batteries can be deployed out of the ship’s bottom to rain plasma death upon the enemies. Each battery is an octahedral cylinder with lines of 36 inch-wide cannons along its length. Four sides of the cylinder are exposed at any one time during the cylinders’ firing rotation at 480 rpm, meaning the firing rate of each cylinder is 1024 shots per second.

Prominence Cannon – The Mighty, Unreachable Sun

(Anti-World, 36000, 1 AU, everything within range)

Sehul’s primary weapon is a Supernal cannon of concentrated photons. The outer hull of Sehul peels off the rest of the vessel and spreads like two giant petals above and below the airship, revealing thousands of glass-like panels attached to the undersides. This weapon cannot be deployed while Sehul is moving.

In a matter of seconds, sunlight harvested by the panels is supplemented by the airship’s own power supply—namely, the captain—and released in the form of a gigantic golden beam. It is a beam of light, and thus the person manning the weapon must adjust for gravity, electromagnetic fields and such. The beam travels in a straight line; hence the beam’s targeting capability against targets on the surface of the planet is restricted by Earth’s curvature. Otherwise, the beam travels at the speed of light and can reach as far as the distance between the Earth and the Sun.

Solar Pulse Bomb – No Star Will Shine Brighter

(Anti-Army, --, 8 km, Multiple)

Sehul releases a powerful shockwave that, while harmless to all creatures, automatically shuts off all Instrumental Weapons and scrambles all transmissions of Active Reality Waves. Instrumental Weapons remain disabled until reactivated by their corresponding owners. Transmission of Active Reality Waves normalizes after a few seconds. Sehul, its crew and its integrated weapon systems are not affected by Solar Pulse Bomb. All feasible defenses against a mundane EMP weapon are effective against Solar Pulse Bomb.

Suncore Engine – Inescapable Grasp of the Sun God

(Anti-Fortress, --, 8 km, everything within range)

A strange device resembling a massive disco ball. When deployed out of the airship’s bottom, it generates a tremendously powerful bounded field that manipulates gravity within its confines. Within the field, gravity is increased to that of the sun (27.94g) and directed towards Sehul itself. This weapon is most useful when used in conjunction with Corona Barrier.
