Supernal

Page history last edited by Daneel Rush 13 years, 7 months ago

Supernals were originally defined by Lilith as “all inhabitants of the Higher Realms, born from the will of the Higher Entity and gifted with power by their Agendas”. This definition was before the evolution of life and intelligence in the Lower Realms, and the appearance of chthonic Supernal entities. Then she corrected the definition to “any entity with an Agenda capable of independent action”. The ‘independent action’ part was to take Instrumental Weapons such as Merodach into account. Of course, by that time Lilith was already a fugitive from Heaven, so nobody paid attention to her semantic achievement. Acamoth proposed the same definition independently and took the credit for it.

Then Digimon appeared.

Digimon do not have Agendas, but they are most definitely Supernal. The current definition proposed by LILITH.TAKAKO is as follows:

“A Supernal is a self-aware entity capable of independent action, composed of Existence held together by a Soul, with powers explicitly or implicitly defined and bound by a number of Agendas.”

This universal definition encompasses all known “supernatural” entities within the GOSPEL setting.

What is ‘Existence’, then? And what is a ‘Soul’?

Those will have to wait. As for Agendas, other pages in this compendium make it clear just how little we understand about them. The page on Agendas explains at length how they come into possession of a Supernal and how Supernals can acquire new Agendas—to the extent Heaven knows of these matters—. Let us discuss now how Agendas interact with the Supernals who possess them.

Functions of an Agenda

As explained elsewhere, the main function of an Agenda is the codification, decodification, transmission and reception of Active Reality Waves.

The other function of an Agenda, intrinsic to its individual nature, is to define the scope of a Supernal’s powers. The Agenda of Light allows its Supernal owner(s) to use Light-based Techniques. In the same way, it forbid its owner(s) from using Darkness-based Techniques…as well as pretty much any other type of Technique, in fact.

Agendas are extremely specific within their scope. For a Supernal to increase his arsenal of skills, he must either possess a number of notably different Agendas—which is hard, given how picky Agendas can be—, or possess a single Agenda (or a few) with a larger scope.

Note that the use of the term ‘Technique’ encompasses Sequences, Programs and Auras. Both ‘active’ and ‘passive’ Techniques in a Supernal’s arsenal are defined exclusively by their Agendas and their level of power.

Universal Reality Protocols

All Supernals, regardless of their nature, power level or Agendas, possess a minimum set of Reality Protocols; a “basic Supernal toolkit”, if you will. From the mighty Adam Kadmon to the lowliest imp, they all share these Universal Auras. Of course, the most powerful Supernals may render some of these Auras obsolete with their individual, specific powers. Since these Auras are ‘Universal’, it means that all Agendas can identically encode and decode these Auras’ Reality Code.

Fundamental Awareness of (Agenda) (ELEMII_RACHEL_HALO)

Supernals are instinctively aware of whenever mortals act within the scope of their Agendas. However, the effectiveness of this Aura depends on the Supernal’s power (approximated by the XANADU level rating). Supernals of level 30 or lower can only detect actions within their Agendas if large amounts of mortals are involved (large scale battles, sports events, riots, protests, migrations, and so on). Only Supernals with a level higher than 80 can detect actions within their Agendas involving single individuals.

Lilith is watching you masturbate.

This Aura fails to work with the Agenda of Supremacy. As there is only one truly Supreme thing in Reality (Adam Kadmon), this Agenda cannot show Adam anything but himself.

Fundamental Awareness of Existence (WIRASIA_HALO)

This Aura grants Incarnated and chthonic Supernals awareness of all living, non-Supernal creatures within a range proportional to their XANADU level. Creatures hidden by non-supernatural means are also perceived, and this Aura reveals the nature of such hidden creatures (humans, wolves, kittens). This Aura behaves more like a Sequence: it is naturally ‘off’, and the Supernal must consciously ‘turn it on’, spending a minimal amount of energy to release a pulse of power which acts like a radar. This Aura cannot detect Supernals; such a feat requires more advanced Techniques, and all Supernals worth their salt have developed one.

Fundamental Extension of the Self (LINKERNATION_HALO)

This Aura has no effect other than to allow Supernals to Project and Incarnate into sentient forms in the Lower Realms. A future article will describe the process of Incarnation. Cthonic Supernals (such as Digimon) do not possess this Aura. Note that this Aura did not always exist. It was inputted by SAMYA_JARA into the code of every non-cthonic Supernal after Lilith executed the Program, CALSIA.LINKERNATION.

Fundamental Internalization of (Agenda) (ELERA_RACHEL_HALO)

Supernals are intrinsically superior to common mortals. This Aura ensures that a Supernal can successfully achieve any action within the scope of his Agenda, as long as such an action is conceivably achievable by a mortal. For example, a mortal is capable of running 42 kilometers (a properly trained, healthy and well-prepared mortal, but a mortal nonetheless). Therefore, barring obstruction by other parties (like a Supernal attack), Supernals with Agendas such as Endurance, Marathons and Running should have absolutely no problem running 42 kilometers without stopping.

Fundamental Translocation through (Agenda) (DEVAT_PURAVA_HALO)

A Supernal may instantly teleport to any place recorded in SAMYA_JARA as his sanctum or his temple, as well as to any place he is made aware of by Fundamental Awareness of (Agenda). For example, Lilith can teleport to any brothel, strip joint, S&M house or any place where love is not portrayed as the natural expression of affection Sophia represents. Shekinah, on the other hand, can teleport to any residence inhabited by a married couple. This is not limited to the Catholic institution of marriage, but to any metaphysical bond of souls her Agenda recognizes as ‘marriage’.

Unlike other Universal Auras, this one is only available to Divinities and Aspects of God.
