The legendary javelins of the leader of the Greek pantheon, Zeus’ Thunderbolts are single-use thrown weapons that disappear after being used once. This makes them extremely inefficient, since Takato and Ken, unlike Zeus, have to recreate a new javelin each time, incurring a great energy cost. However, the cost can be compensated, according to the situation, by their potential to inflict damage to very large numbers of targets.

The moment the javelin is released, it becomes a lightning bolt that strikes a single target. If it hits, it inflicts damage and then splits into two bolts that arc to strike other nearby targets. If those hit, the cycle repeats over and over until the bolts miss or all possible targets have been hit. Each bolt carries half the power of its predecessor (for example, 14000-7000-3500-1750-…). The Thunderbolt can split an infinite number of times to strike an infinite number of targets. Of course, at one point, the power of each individual lightning bolt becomes negligible.
