The Last Holy War, Part II (2019-2020)

• January 01, 2019: Moloch finishes input of DEUS.IENOVA.
• Astronomers across the globe are stunned by the sudden and unexplainable shift in the celestial motion of the recently discovered Asteroid 2018WB. Estimated time of impact: 88 days.

• January 02, 2019: The scientific community is still arguing over the possibility of 2018WB to impact the Earth when the Bisdee Tier Optical Astronomy Observatory in Tasmania reports two more never-before-seen celestial bodies with trajectories frighteningly similar to 2018WB.

• January 03, 2019: By noon this day, selected representatives of the astronomy community, including the person who discovered the now-dubbed 2019AA and 2019AB, are reporting their dire findings to the UN Security Council.
• With the loss of the world’s nuclear arsenal, there are no more means to strike at the approaching asteroids. Time of impact: 86 days.

• January 04, 2019: Takato, Takako, Taichi and Takeru meet with the UN Security Council. Takato insists that the current priority is to aid the areas devastated in the Day of Fire and Blood. However, the hopelessness of the situation has brought most human activity to a morbid lull.
• Takato and Takako then travel to Rome to take over the FAO Headquarters and organize relief efforts from there.
• The Incarnation of Hector of Troy arrives to Tokyo to challenge Devin. Even with the aid of the Digital Hazard, Hector proves to be more than a match to Devin’s prowess. Suzie arrives to put an end to the seemingly endless fight.

• January 05, 2019: Hector ambushes Suzie at night, driven by rage by Athena’s apparent favor of Achilles over himself. Suzie unveils the Restricted Support Bounded Field (SKATA.CIVITAS), the Script she developed from watching Takato practice Seder Hishtalshelus.
• The battle ends somehow in a tie, and Hector declares he will join Hell’s side, not because he’s evil, but because it is the side that opposes Suzie and Devin. It is the promise of a next battle.

• January 09, 2019: one of the most powerful Aeternals, Gilgamesh, appears before Takato, asking him why he did not act to prevent DEUS.PURGER and the tragic events that followed. Takako urges her brother to escape, for this is an opponent far beyond his current level.
• Gilgamesh recognizes Takako as Lilith and defeats her with frightening ease.
• Takato stops Gilgamesh from dealing the killing blow. However, he is truly no match for the King of Uruk.
• Takeru, Hikari, Taichi and Ken arrive to defend Takato, and Gilgamesh chooses to make his leave, leaving Takato wondering whether he is actually working hard enough.

• January 11, 2019: To Takako’s and the other’s awe and horror, Takato absorbs all the radiation lingering in the atmosphere after the Day of Fire and Blood in his body. He uses Seder Hishtalshelus to transmute the radioactivity into a safer form, but his incomplete proficiency with the Script means he is inevitably poisoned by the overflow of dangerous energy.

• January 12, 2019: a new simulation reveals that 2018WB and 2019AB will not impact the Earth. The twelve-kilometers-diameter 2018WB would pass by at approximately 75000 km from the Earth’s surface, while the smaller (7 km) 2019AB would fly beyond the moon’s orbit and then towards the Sun.
• Regardless, it is not much of a consolation. The largest of the three space rocks, the seventeen-kilometer monster 2019AA is on a direct collision course with the Pacific Ocean one week after 2018WB’s passing.
• Takako is left wondering. Moloch would not make that kind of mistake…

• January 12, 2019 – March 29, 2019: Takato and the Archangels focus their efforts on helping heal the devastated world and gathering more allies for the battle against Hell. When asked about 2019AA, he always says he’ll “deal with it when it comes”.

• February 13-15, 2019: the Incarnation of Dionysus appears before Takato and Suzie, requesting protection from Ares. The two acquiesce, but the wanton god’s anarchic behavior makes them wonder if he is actually worth protecting.
• Ares eventually finds and kills Dionysus to consume his divine Existence, not being really interested in his Agendas. Suzie realizes that Ares intends to devour the entire pantheon, and requests the aid of the Archangels to track them before Ares does.
• Takako reveals that Lilith has in fact already slain Aphrodite, Eros and Hera.

• March 09-10, 2019: Takato and Suzie track the Incarnation of Hecate to Barcelona, Spain. She turns out to be a 10-year-old Danish girl born of a French mother. In these two days, the two realize just how low the once-glorious Hellenic Pantheon has fallen—Divinities and heroes are hunting each other down in a macabre battle royal in a desperate final bout from survival against the merciless Horde of Hell and Ares’ ravenous hunger for Existence.
• Suzie fights and defeats Bia, the personification of Force, whom she met entirely by accident.
• Hecate is attacked by two of the Titans: the personification of Dusk, Astraios, and her own Supernal father, the Titan Perses, who had already killed his wife Asteria, but they are destroyed by Takato in a terrible battle that ruins most of Barcelona’s beachside.
• In the meantime, Hecate fights and defeats two of Astraios’ children, Phainon and Stilbon of the Astra Planeta. Apparently, her fear of violence does not make her any less proficient at defending herself.
• The little goddess grows quite attached to both Takato and Suzie, going as far as to call them “Papa” and “Mama”. The few years of difference between her and Suzie do not seem to be an issue.

• March 19-20, 2019: Takato takes Hecate along to her home land of Denmark as directed by one of Takako’s divinations. There they meet the Nordic goddess of the underworld, Hel, who like Hecate underwent her Epiphany at an early age. Unlike Hecate’s shyness and apparent frailty, Hel is simply depressed and aggressive, as she is wary of other Supernals who might be after her power.
• They learn Hel is chased by Tyr, who believes he can prevent his mutual death with Garmr in Ragnarok if he kills the beast’s mistress first. Takato forces him to retreat.
• Soon after that they meet Gilgamesh, who is in fact keeping tabs on the Nordic Pantheon. Thinking he is after Hecate and Hel, Takato attacks recklessly and is defeated, but Hecate’s willingness to fight for Takato’s sake earns her the King of Heroes’ respect and saves Takato’s life.
• That night, Hel bares her heart to Takato: how tired she is of being chased, why she had to harden her heart after being unwillingly appointed to her divine role and branded with an unfair label.
• “No problem,” Takato confidently remarked. “If any of them tries to hurt you, I will become Ragnarök.”
• Hecate takes Hel’s place fighting the battle-maiden Móðguðr.
• “Hey, I came here to kill her! Get fucking lost!” “But, she’s so much stronger than me…so much prettier…so much brighter. If you can’t get past the pitiful me…how do you expect…to lay a hand…on someone like her?”
• With the threat gone for the time being, Hel decides not to follow Takato to Japan. She might be seen as a Goddess of Death, but she believes she has a duty to protect her own land from the Holy War. When the time comes to take the war to Moloch, she will join him.

• March 30, 2019: Observatories throughout the world watch in horror how the trajectory of 2018WB impossibly changes and it starts a slow descent towards Earth.
• Takako figures out a bit more. There’s a Supernal controlling the asteroid’s fall.
• Takato hurries to the falling asteroid, where he encounters and defeats The Morrígan. However, the damage is done, and the asteroid, while it does not strike the planet—knocked off its trajectory by Mount Everest of all things—leaves nothing but devastation in its wake.
• Six countries—Albania, Macedonia, Armenia, Nepal, Burma and Cambodia—are erased from the face of the Earth. Several others—France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei and Australia—suffer terrible losses.
• The sudden loss of life once again strikes Adam Kadmon deeply. The Archangels find Takato in the obliterated remains of Tasmania, unconscious.

• April 01, 2019 – April 06, 2019: the world once again falls into despair, and despair becomes Moloch’s sustenance. With the Archangels devoted to saving Earth, he can work unhampered on his experiments and the expansion of his forces.
• On the eve of 2019AA’s fall, Takako overhears the bedridden Takato crying and calling out to the three brides, wishing for the power to save the world. Takako decides to take the crisis in her own hands, literally.

• April 07, 2019: the second asteroid falls, controlled by the Aeternal Bodhbh. Unlike the first asteroid, this one intends to impact the planet vertically, striking at the Shatsky Rise in the Pacific Ocean (36°47’ N, 159°11’ E).
• Takako catches the falling asteroid with her bare hands, and both asteroid and Aspect of God sink into the ocean, the final impact with the sea basin mostly softened by Takako’s effort. Regardless, the sheer amount of water displaced by the falling rock threatens to drown the Pacific Coast with tsunamis the likes of which have never been seen before.
• Takato haphazardly develops Bounded Field – Pacific Plate Containment Border to protect both the American and Asian Pacific coasts. To accomplish this in such short notice, he relies on the incomplete COSMO_SUPERBIA_PROTOCOL. Unfortunately, all the Pacific islands are left unprotected, and many of them disappear under the tidal waves. The tsunamis would rage with lessening intensity for almost 48 full hours, causing great shifts in the natural ocean currents and temperature and wreaking havoc in the Pacific’s already fragile ecosystem.
• While exhausted, Takato refuses to rest before he finds his sister.

• April 07, 2019 – April 09, 2019: this time, it is Demeter who appears before Suzie. She claims that, true to the legend, the Incarnation of Hades has sequestered the Incarnation of Persephone and taken her somewhere Demeter cannot track her mythological daughter. With Takato and almost everyone else busy with the aftermath of 2019AA, it is up to the young Athena, Devin, Roland Skies and little Hecate to aid the Harvest Goddess.
• Hecate tamed the berserk Cerberus after Suzie defeated Charon and destroyed the tool that degraded the three-headed beast’s mind.
• The first to stand on their path were the judges of the dead, dispatched by their Lord Hades. Suzie fought Rhadamanthus, Devin and Roland teamed-up to defeat Aeacus while Hecate and her new pet fought and defeated Minos.
• Hecate is later separated from the rest of the group when they are attacked by a group of Greek Supernals led by Keres. To protect the others from Keres’ Instant Death Techniques, Hecate pulled him away from the main battlefield, and invokes an Annihilation Duel which Oizys, the personification of suffering, joins as well.
• Devin battles and defeats Eris, the Greek personification of strife.
• Roland defeats Apate, the personification of deception.
• Suzie defeats Nemesis, the personification of retribution when she unveils the secret of Hades’ extensive domain—it cannot possibly be a Reality Script; Hades is nowhere near powerful enough to possess such a Technique and to affect such a large area with it. They’re actually within the Digital World!
• Upon reaching the throne of the God of the Underworld, they are surprised by Hades surrendering without a fight. He admits he is simply not strong enough to face them. Besides, the kidnapped Persephone is not nearly as attached to him as the legends would suggest.
• Hecate slays Oizys, but her limited stamina after the previous battles render her to weak to defeat Keres. She desperately calls for her “parents’” aid, and it is Takato who shatters the barrier that blocks the battlefield and saves Hecate from annihilation. Keres manages to escape to fight another day.
• Unknown to the rescue party, however, the lonely Hades is soon afterwards slain and consumed by Ares.

• April 10, 2019: Takako emerges from the sea in the coast of Okinawa. Despite her broken, charred body, the fact that she survived being crushed in between a giant incandescent rock from outer space and the Pacific Ocean’s floor and then fought and defeated an Aeternal while still underwater openly shows the sheer magnitude of her power.

• April 11, 2019: Takato and Rika destroy 2019AB with Enlil, The World-Splitting Blade. The millions of tiny asteroid fragments rain upon the world creating a wondrous night scenery.
• Unseen and unkwnown by everybody else, the Supernal intended to direct 2019AB’s last stretch towards Earth, Nemhain, disappears into the night and out of the war for good.

• April 18, 2019: a worldwide outbreak of poisoning reveals that the nucleus of 2019AB was made of lead, which has contaminated the planet’s water sources. Alice McCoy also falls victim to lead poisoning, but she refuses supernatural healing, claiming it is not fair for her to receive special treatment.
• Furthermore, Alice stops Takato from attempting to clean the entire world, fearing for his safety.

• April 19, 2019 – The Day of Epidemic: the Third Chimera, Type-AKIYAMA Stolas appears in South Korea. As he marches, all human life is snuffed out, and civilization is replaced by the roughness of nature. The Archangels and their allies work all together to destroy this dangerous being, which simply cannot be engaged in direct combat.
• Takato does not participate in this battle—Rika convinces him to stay behind and look after Alice.
• Takako, too, disappears at some point the previous night, and does not reappear until after the battle was over. Suspicion begins to fall on her.
• The Archangels is assisted not only by their Tamer and Supernal allies, but by some of the Royal Knights, who admittedly see the Chimeras as their common enemy.
• Stolas is defeated before he can reach Beijing, but, by that time, both Koreas and a large portion of northern China were already devoid of human life.

• May 01, 2019: a preliminary report by the World Health Organization and the International Maritime Organization reveal that the sudden increase of iron concentration in the Pacific Ocean caused by 2019AA threatens all marine life in the world’s largest body of water. Hunger threatens those nations which relied on the harvest from the sea for their sustenance.

• May 02, 2019: Suzie receives a mysterious phone call early that morning. The trail of the call takes her to New York, where she meets Takato. Together, they follow the trail of Clotho, one of the Moirae, hoping to find her before Ares does. Unfortunately, they fail and only arrived in time to watch her life being claimed by the mad God of War.
• Takato is stunned to see Clotho was in fact a girl he had met and conversed with in Central Park the day before. He sees her death as yet another personal failure, and goes into a rage the likes of which Suzie had never seen. Ares barely manages to escape with his life.
• It was up to Suzie and later Hecate and Alice to console the demoralized Takato.

• May 05, 2019: Gilgamesh appears in Shinjuku a second time to punish Takato for his recent streak of failures. Takato escapes from the city to not involve any of his allies. However, Micael returns in the guise of Natalia Andropova to stop the King of Heroes.
• Micael destroys Gilgamesh’s Reality Script with Demon Art – Unraveling Power of the Realm of Hopelessness.
• She then restores the poisoned planet via executing Prayer – Invocation of the Great Supernal Power.

• May 06, 2019: Takato and Takako work together to disintegrate the submerged 2019AA to prevent further diffusion of iron in the oceans.

• May 11, 2019: Hecate finds Lachesis of the Moirae, who upon learning of Clotho’s demise is now desperately looking for her sister Atropos. The Goddess of Boundaries remains suspicious and, indeed, Lachesis intends to kill her sister to claim her powers. Their subsequent fight draws the Archangel’s attention, and Lachesis invokes an Annihilation Duel to prevent them from interfering.
• Hecate neutralizes Lachesis’ awesome precognitive abilities with Sublime Bounded Field – Canopy of Plutonic Sky. Replacing the stars with the stars of the underworld both renders most of Atropos’ powers useless and boosts Hecate’s own in one fell swoop. In the end, Hecate is victorious, and the identity of the last of the Moirae remains unveiled.

Simultaneously, Takako is in northern India, hunting down who she believes is the only person in the world who can properly train Jeri. Archangel Michael is traveling along.

• They find Karna in the middle of a fight with his old nemesis, Arjuna. Strangely, they do not seem really into it, until Jeri draws out Gandiva. Arjuna tries to reclaim it, but Takako and Karna force him to retreat. 
• Karna is not interested in the Holy War, but he is clearly bothered by Jeri being in possession of Gandiva, the greatest bow of Hindu tradition. He accepts instructing her until she becomes “worthy of the bow”, with the condition that she does not use it until he says she has earned it. 
• They hence trade bows: Karna gives Juri his Vijaya in exchange for Gandiva.

• May 13, 2019: Hecate’s divination leads Takato to a mental institution in Austria, where he finds the Incarnation of the nymph Echo. She has been left alone because nobody wants her power, but he fears a desperate Supernal might try to consume her nonetheless.
• Takato takes Echo and Hecate to the Digital World, where they are sniped by Examon of the Royal Knights. Takato stands back while Hecate and Echo combine their skills to force the greatest of Dragon Digimon to retreat.
• Regardless, Takato agrees that the Holy War is too dangerous for Echo, and leaves her under the care of the Digimon of Necropolis. 

• May 23, 2019 – The Day of Terrors: the Fourth Chimera, Type-AKIYAMA Shax, Great Marquis of Hell, engulfs Tokyo in supernatural darkness. It only takes Taichi a minute to dispel it, but that is enough for the demon’s hordes to take hundreds of lives and for the maddening darkness to break the minds of even more. Furthermore, Shax’s mantle of darkness is self renewable, as it actually feeds from the madness and fear it inflicts.
• Takako, who is not affected by Shax’s darkness, tries to destroy the demon, but her Angel Signs—the only Insignia she can use in public—are great diminished within the Bounded Field Shax has created. Instead, she finds Jeri and transports her outside the range of the darkness.
• Takako and Jeri destroy Shax’s Bounded Field by replacing it with their own Dual Force, Muspelheim. Without the cover of supernatural darkness, the Chimera is slain by a ferocious barrage of ranged attacks launched by all ten Archangels, led by Jeri’s Fatuous Instrumentality.
• After the battle, the Archangels learned that Moloch launched a series of attacks throughout the world while they were kept busy by Shax. The world’s good Supernals fought back, but the loss of lives and property is immense nonetheless. Takato is dismayed as the world is consumed by fear of the Supernal.

• May 30, 2019: With advice from Hecate and Hephaestus, Suzie creates her Doll Automaton Instrumental Weapon, Nike.

• June 13, 2019: Suzie is contacted by the god Hermes and summoned to a location in the North American wasteland. With Takato busy in New York with UN stuff, Suzie takes only little Hecate with her.
• It soon becomes obvious that this is a trap: Suzie is ambushed by Ares’ daughter, Adrestia, and a battalion of Ares’ Spartoi. Suzie urges Hecate to run away.
• Hecate is however tracked down by Hermes, who inflicts upon her a single mortal blow. In her last breaths, Hecate sends a vision of her death to Takato together with her Instrumental Weapon, the Strophalos which contains her entire knowledge on Manipulation of Boundaries. Takato curses Hermes and cries for the girl he loved, albeit briefly, as his own daughter.
• Hermes consumes the entirety of Hecate’s Existence and takes all her Agendas.
• Suzie defeats and devours Adrestia.

• June 26, 2019: Suzie replaces her entire peripheral nervous system with a high-conductivity variation of her trademark strings, replacing the usual chemical (ionic) signal transmission with purely electronic means. In the following week, she fine-tunes this outrageous body modification, gaining a significant increase in agility and dexterity.

• July 05-06, 2019: Takako’s divinations lead to two to Iceland, where she has located the Supernal spark of the legendary hero, Siegfried. The siblings go to the island, hoping they can recruit such a powerful Aeternal to their side. However, the immortal knight won’t have anything to do with anybody before he finds his Brynhild—they split in the midst of a battle against a demonic dragon. Takato and Takako split to search.
• Takako finds her first, but just as quickly she is found by Gilgamesh.
• Takato and Siegfried arrive to watch the one-sided battle. Unaware of Takako’s true identity, they assume Gilgamesh is after Brynhild for whatever reason. To escape from the losing battle, Takako forcefully teleports all four of them to random locations in Iceland. Not feeling up to tracking anybody, Gilgamesh departs for the day.
• Takako and Brynhild meet that evening. They discuss men and love by the warmth of a bonfire.
• Takato and Siegfried fight each other to get acquainted with each other’s powers and limits.
• Next morning, Gilgamesh appears before Takako and Brynhild once more. As they fight, however, Takako cannot help but wonder: the King of Uruk is not fighting with his usual intensity, and she could swear this time he’s really aiming for Brynhild…
• Meanwhile, Takato and Siegfried face off against…Gilgamesh? The sounds of combat draw the three males to the other battle.
• Gilgamesh savagely bombards his impostor, who immediately reveals himself to be the Nose trickster god, Loki. His abilities allow him to escape the barrage of Instrumental Weapons and even offer a warning of the impending Ragnarök before departing, unable to claim Brynhild’s Existence as he intended.
• Takako uses the distraction presented by Loki to set up a large-distance teleport, getting everyone away before Gilgamesh could refocus his attention on them.
• Siegfried and Brynhild agree to join Takato’s army. He sends them to the Digital World to meet Echo and organize things there for the upcoming battles.

• July 05-07, 2019: Suzie meets the gods Moros and Thanatos, who Incarnated in a girl/boy couple from Romania. They were childhood friends before their Epiphanies, and Thanatos has taken the role of Moros’ bodyguard. It was the goddess of impending doom who suggested traveling to Japan, for she assumed Ares would hesitate to attack there.
• Suzie learns a lot about the pantheon’s ancient history from Moros, who despite her young age acts like an old lady.
• On the 7^th, Ares attacks Thanatos while Moros is away with Suzie. The God of War reveals he was after Thanatos all along before slaying him. Suzie and the others were kept busy and distracted by the Spartoi, the chthonic Aeternal Scylla and the Titan Iapethus.

• July 12, 2019: Unexpectedly, the Royal Knights Realize in the middle of Shinjuku. They have decided it is time to put the agents of the Digital Hazard in their place.
• The Archangels are astounded by how powerful these Digimon are. Takako seems to be the only one who can handle them with little trouble.
• Gallantmon Crimson Mode is utterly defeated by the Royal Knights’ leader, Grademon’s evolution, Alphamon. Shock strikes the heroes when Alphamon reveals itself to be the bio-merged form of Tanaka Rei and her partner, DORUmon.
• Rei injects the X-Program into Takato and Guilmon, expecting this to be the end of the Digital Hazard. Takato collapses in what seems to be endless agony.
• The Royal Knights leave before Takako gets to throw away her plans and go Lilith on their asses.

• July 13-15, 2019: Takako is furious—at the Royal Knights for pulling something like this in the middle of the Holy War, and at the Archangels for not being powerful enough to score a decisive victory against the Royal Knights. Together with Alice, she stays by Takato’s side in his convalescence.
• No healing Techniques can remove the X-Program. The X-Program has quickly integrated itself with Takato’s innate data content, and his many differences with a standard human body—or even an Incarnation’s superior body—make it difficult to try more complex methods.
• The Archangels abandon themselves into their training, but lacking a sense of direction, they do not really know what they can do to become stronger.

• July 16, 2019: Takato’s body finally assimilates the X-Program and synthetizes the X-Antibody. He then offers the antibody to his fellow Tamers, for it is nothing but a free power-up. Curiously enough, not every Tamer/Digimon pair is compatible with the Antibody, and there are also differences in the magnitude of the power boost amongst those who are compatible.
• Strangely, the Archangels seem to be completely incompatible with the X-Antibody. Only Takeru’s and Ken’s partners suffer a change worthy of mention: from that day onwards, Takeru and Patamon bio-merge into Seraphimon instead of SlashAngemon, and Wormmon fuses with his partner into GrandisKuwagamon.
• The antibody was a lot more popular among the Digi-Destined; most of their partners changing into new, stronger versions of their originals.
• Alice is surprised when Dobermon shows his interest in taking the antibody. The surprise generalizes when it worked in him and changed him to a bigger, meaner-looking new form. Alice finds the results extremely satisfactory, and she comes to enjoy taking Dobermon X out on long, pleasant walks in which they scare the hell out of everybody.
• Taichi and Agumon are by far the strangest case. It will take Taichi dying for his body to accept the X-Antibody and combine it with Goddramon’s data to create a new Mega form.
• Takato finally releases the X-Antibody in the Digital World to protect its inhabitants from an accidental outbreak of the X-Program.

• July 21, 2019: the decisive battle against the Royal Knights. Two of the fights that take place that day are worthy of mention.
• Kamiya Taichi teams up with his old friend Matt for the last time, to face Omnimon together. Their teamwork after so many years stayed good enough to overcome the powerful Royal Knight and force it to de-evolve back to Agumon, Gabumon and the Tamer, Minami Shinji.
• Takato and Guilmon, this time as Gallantmon X, face off against Alphamon one more time. The final result can better be described as a tie, but the mere fact that Takato took the X-Program and made something so intrinsically good of it convinces Rei that Takato’s was the right path.
• Most of the Royal Knights surrender together with Rei and accept to follow Takato as his Chioth ha Qadesh. Those who don’t escape back to the Apex to prepare alongside their lord Huanglongmon for the final battle.
