Miecz świętego Piotra – Mankind is the Imperfection of God
Owner: His Holiness the Pope
Type: Anti-Unit
Avg. Power: 120
An Instrumental Weapon based on the roman Gladius with which the apostle Peter cut off the ear of the high priest’s servant at the time of Jesus’ arrest in Gethsemane. While the weapon revered at Poznan (Poland) is acknowledged to be a medieval copy, the existence of an Instrumental Weapon is fueled by human faith and the relevance of its presence at the earliest stage of the Passion of Jesus Christ. Two billion Christians have enough power to give worth to an otherwise worthless concept.
As a sword, it offers barely any offensive advantage over an ordinary blade of its type. However, the concept it embodies is as simple as it is powerful. It must be remembered that it was not the Son of God who commanded Peter to strike at the high priest’s servant. In the same way, it was the faithful who used the “word of God” to justify the Holy Crusades. The dark side of the church comes from the church itself, not from God. It could be said, then, that humanity is a taint on the Supernal. To the Sword of Saint Peter, there is no difference between human and Supernal; they are all tainted.
To the Sword of Saint Peter, all targets are human and thus, as fragile as humans are. No supernatural defenses work against this sword, and the blade ignores the supernatural hardiness of Incarnation vessels. Ordinary human strength is enough to cut the skin of a Supernal for a wielder of this blade.
