The flaming sword that guards the gates of Eden. It is in fact the downgraded form of the Forbidden Instrument Zohar Malfeaya. Metatron was inspired by the Biblical narration of Adam and Eve’s banishment from the Garden of Eden, and it is “colloquially” known as “Eden’s Blade.”
Most of the time it is nothing more than a sword coated in flames (as if that were not extraordinary enough). Aside from the obvious effect of a sword coated in flames, Eden’s Blade has an additional effect. Wounds dealt to demonic and undead entities are particularly painful. They do not deal extra damage, they just hurt more.
Originally, Takato shaped the flames of the sword into a flamethrower (“Eden’s Light”) and a shockwave (“Eden’s Gate”). However, he stopped doing this the day he received the Kether Sephiroth Card, mostly because he quickly found better ways to use his powers.
